Cause is a launchpad for pump.fun coins that fund a fundraising campaign. This page explains what happens to the money at each step.
How it works
- Someone picks a campaign on GoFundMe, GiveSendGo or JustGiving and launches a coin for it from their own wallet. The coin is a normal pump.fun coin.
- In the launch transaction, the coin's creator fees are assigned to the Cause treasury through pump.fun's fee sharing. The launcher receives none of them.
- As the coin trades, creator fees build up on-chain. They are claimed into the treasury and recorded per coin.
- The claimed fees are converted from SOL to dollars and donated on the campaign's own page.
- Each donation is posted on the coin page and on the Donations page with a picture of the receipt from the fundraising platform.
Fees
Platforms
A coin is tied to its campaign by the coin's website field, which is set to the campaign link at launch and stored in the coin's metadata. It cannot be pointed at another campaign afterwards.
Donations
For launchers
You sign the launch with Phantom. Cause never holds your keys. If you add a first buy, those tokens are yours and you can sell them like any holder. You do not receive creator fees from the coin. Launching a coin does not make you the organiser of the campaign, and the campaign's organiser does not need to take any action to receive donations.
Check it yourself
- The treasury address is .... Every coin's fee sharing config on pump.fun lists it as the only shareholder.
- The coin's website on pump.fun is the campaign link.
- Each donation has a receipt picture. Most platforms also list the donation on the campaign page under the name Cause.
No guarantees
A coin can earn very little. Fees depend on trading volume, and many coins never reach the smallest donation. Coins launched here are not investments, and buying one is not a donation: only the creator fees are donated, not the money spent on tokens. Cause is not affiliated with GoFundMe, GiveSendGo, JustGiving or any campaign organiser.
